Dolly Parton's nonprofit, Imagination Library, will be featured in a new documentary, "The Library That Dolly Built," featuring a behind the scenes look at the 25-year-old organization that provides free books to children and how it came to be. In celebration of the film, Parton's theme park, Dollywood, and global distribution company Abramorama will host a free livestream premiere on Facebook and ImaginationLibrary.com including a conversation and acoustic performance by Parton on Wednesday, December 9th at 6p (CT). Additionally, a European premiere will take place Thursday, December 10th at 7pm (GMT), and an Australian premiere on Friday, December 11th at 7pm (AEDT). The film and conversation with Parton will release nationwide on Friday, December 11th as a "Watch Now @ Home" Cinema Release, and across multiple digital platforms in early 2021.
"I am so excited that we can finally tell the whole story of the Imagination Library," said Parton. "It is certainly not just about me. Our story is the story of children, of families and communities who all share the dream to inspire kids to love to read and to love to learn. My hope is this documentary will encourage more towns, more states and even more countries to jump onboard. One thing is for sure, I think this is the best investment I have ever made!"
