Florida Georgia Line took to Instagram on Friday, January 1st to announce that they will be pursuing solo projects in 2021, in addition to their work as a duo. In a more than nine-minute video message to fans, Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley revealed that Kelley is at work writing and recording a solo project, expected this summer, while Hubbard is collaborating with other artists, including Tim McGraw. The duo is also “holding dates” for a potential 2021 tour in support of their fifth album, “Life Goes On,” due on February 12th. Also in the long-term planning is another FGL House restaurant, expanding the brand they launched in Nashville in 2017.
Kelley said of his album, “I just really got back to writing for myself … I feel really fulfilled, and having [Hubbard’s] blessing means everything.” Kelley also said their solo work is “really creating just some freedom for ourselves in addition to what we do with FGL.” Added Hubbard, “We’ve always been a package deal … but I think there’s freedom at this age, and in this time and with where we’re at to be able to not always be a package deal … I have a strong peace about this.” (Photo: John Shearer)
