Riser House artist Meghan Patrick recently took to Instagram to share with fans that she will be donating her first vehicle, the 22-year-old GMC truck she sings about in her debut American radio single, "My First Car," to the Denise House charity, an emergency shelter for women and children suffering abuse. The donation is a full circle moment for Patrick, who once drove away from a toxic relationship in the very same truck.
"I want to thank my mom for coming up with the amazing idea to make her [the truck's] 'retirement' mean something by helping a cause that is near and dear to my heart," shared Patrick in her Instagram post. "This truck also once drove me away from a really toxic relationship, and now with help from @donatecarcanada and Denise House, she has been donated to help other women get back on their feet after escaping their own toxic relationship. I can’t think of a more perfect end for this truck than helping another girl like me feel safe, and able to chase her own dreams. Thank you for everything Ol' Gal, I’ll miss you. RIP."
