EMI Records Nashville's Eric Church revealed plans for a triple album release, titled "Heart & Soul," in April. Church delivered the news directly to his "Church Choir" fans today (1/21) in a video message, where he called the project "the very best we've ever made." Watch it here. The first album, "Heart," will be widely released on Friday, April 16th, while the second album, titled "&," will only be available to members of the "Church Choir" fan club on Tuesday, April 20th exclusively on vinyl. The third and final album, "Soul," will be available everywhere on Friday, April 23rd. Each of the 24 new songs included in the collection is a product of Church's 28-day songwriting retreat in North Carolina, where he challenged himself to write and record a new song every day.
“I’ve always been intrigued when a song is born in a writer room – there is a magic that happens there,” said Church. “I wanted to put that in the studio form. So, every day, we would write a song in the morning and we would record the song that night. Doing it that way allowed for the songwriters to get involved in the studio process and the musicians to be involved in the creative process. You felt a little bit like you were secretly doing something that was special, and you knew it ... You started going, ‘Hmm, wait ’til the world finds out about this.’”
