Combustion/RCA Nashville's Corey Kent released a new track, "Something's Gonna Kill Me," today (4/14) from his third album, set for release on June 2nd. The 10-track project, "BLACKTOP," produced by Jay Joyce and Chris Farren, includes four previously released songs, including his current radio single, "Wild As her," now Platinum certified and in the Top 5 on the Mediabase Country chart. Kent shares writing credits with Morgan Wallen, Ryan Hurd, Kelly Archer, Lydia Vaughn, and others on the album. He will tour all summer, supporting Jason Aldean's "Highway Desperado Tour," as well as his own headlining show (6/2) at Nashville's Brooklyn Bowl.
"'Something's Gonna Kill Me' is a song I wrote about taking risks," said Kent. "Some of my favorite things in life could kill me, but they're also the things that make me feel most alive. I love a Sunday afternoon motorcycle ride, I love smoking a cigar on my back porch with a good friend. This song is a realization that life is short, and you gotta take some risks to make the most of it." (Photo: Matthew Berinato)
