A dvd called "Still Rattlin' The Devil's Cage" is set to be released about Country legend Charlie Louvin. Louvin lost his battle with pancreatic cancer on January 26th at the age of 83.
The project is funded by kickstarter.com, an online creative forum for fans to donate to projects. The team raised a three thousand dollar plus production budget to cover hard costs for travel as well as produce 1000 DVDs to sell.
The entire creative team is donating their services to help raise funds for Louvin. The team consists of Brian Steege as Director of Photography, Milk Products with editing and Jeff Chamber for screenwriting.
The crew has filmed Charlie's 50th Anniversary show of "Satan is Real" on December 3rd at the Foobar in Nashville and conducted an interview at his home. "Satan is Real" is a gospel collection known for tracks that included "Are You Afraid to Die?" and "Satan's Jeweled Crown."
A tentative release date of Spring 2011 has been set for the project. Photographer Keith Neltner's prints that commemorated the show in Nashville are also for sale at www.neltnercreative.com. All proceeds will go to the film's production costs.
Questions about the documentary may be sent to Blake Judd at blakejudd@juddfilms.com. For more on the life of Charlie Louvin, www.charlielouvin.net.
