Rounder Records has announced that Alison Krauss and Union Station's next album "Paper Airplane" will hit stores on April 12th. It is Krauss' 14th album. Since her debut in 1985, she has sold more than 12 million albums and won 26 Grammy Awards, the most for any female artist of any genre.
The new 11-song album includes the "Dimming of the Day" written by Richard Thompson and the Peter Rowan composition "Dust Bowl Children." It was recorded in Nashville with engineer Mike Shipley.
"Paper Airplane" is Krauss and Union Station's first CD since 2004's "Lonely Runs Both Ways," and it is Krauss' first since her collaboration with Robert Plant, "Raising Sand."
Alison Krauss and Union Station features the Krauss on fiddle and with lead vocals, Dan Tyminski on guitar, mandolin and lead vocals, Barry Bales with bass and harmony vocals, Ron Block with banjo, guitar and harmony vocals and Jerry Douglas on Dobro and harmony vocals.
