Emrose/Stroudavarious artist Margaret Durante is gearing up to release her new single, "Maybe Tonight," on Monday, April 18th. The song is also the title track of her four-song digital EP which will be available for download the following day, Tuesday, April 19th, through online music retailers including iTunes and Amazon.
"Maybe Tonight" is the second release Durante's forthcoming full-length album, scheduled for release later this year. Durante co-wrote the tune along with Nashville songwriters Blair Daly and Rachel Proctor.
"Some songs that we wrote for the record were about heartbreak and others are about coming of age," said Durante. "I am a very light-hearted person, and I wanted to write a song that reflected that part of my personality as well. It's a fun, flirty, light song about the beginning of a new relationship."
Durante made her entire album with famed producer James Stroud.
"I think a lot of my comfort in the studio stemmed from the fact that James was producing me," Durante said. "He was one of the first people I met after I moved to Nashville three years ago. He could have been too proud to help a newbie like me, but he was so welcoming. His priority is helping the artist create the music they set out to make. I feel like I've made the album that I wanted to make with someone who knows exactly what he's doing, guiding me along the way."
Durante's digital EP will contain the title track and new single, "Maybe Tonight," as well as three additional new tunes: "Better," "Paper Chains" and "Whiskey and a Gun."
