Valory Music artist Jewel is staying busy these days. Beginning on May 30th, she'll host and be one of the head judges, along with Kara DioGuardi, for the new reality TV series, "Platinum Hit." The show, which will air on Bravo Television Network, will give viewers an inside look at the craft of songwriting. Twelve up-and-coming songwriters will be followed through various challenges, testing their creativity and drive. "The show is based on songwriters and songwriting," said Jewel, "There's a lot of great singers in the world, but if they don't have the right song you'll never hear them."
The winner of the show will receive a $100,000 cash prize, a publishing deal with Sony BMI Songwriters The Writing Camp, and receive a recording deal with RCA/Jive. The show premieres on Bravo on May 30th at 10p (ET).
The show isn't the only thing keeping Jewel busy these days, she's also signed on with Libby's Fruits and Vegetables to re-record their classic jingle. "As an expectant first-time mom, I am thrilled to be partnering with Libby's to encourage families to come together, both at meal time and through music," said Jewel, who's also encouraging families to record their own version of the jingle. Fans can submit their own version on Libby's Facebook page. (www.facebook.com/libbystable) Jewel, will select five finalists to compete for America's vote to win the $10,000 grand prize, $2,500 second place prize, and $1,000 third place prize.
