Trace Adkins
Jun 20, 2011
Show Dog-Universal Music artist Trace Adkins took the stage for his 13th consecutive CMA Music Festival at LP Field, on June 11th in Nashville, with exciting news for fans. He announced "Proud To Be Here" will be the title of his forthcoming album which will be released on August 2nd.
"'Proud To Be Here' was chosen as the album title some weeks ago because it's
how I've felt ever since my first album release and during every milestone
since. The title song could have been based on my life and it's about narrow
escapes and the grace that guides you through," said Adkins. "Obviously, now after the fire, 'Proud To Be Here' takes on an even greater significance. Once again, I've been blessed and everyone is safe. I don't even want to think what
could've been had it started at 3a instead of 3p."
Adkins found inspiration for his lead single, "Just Fishin'" which he co-wrote, from his farm in Nashville. The land also served as the location for the "Just Fishin" music video, which stars his younger daughter, Trinity Adkins.
The album contains 10 different tracks, with an additional 4 tracks appearing on the Deluxe Edition. One of those four tracks includes a hilarious response song with Black Shelton titled, "If I Was A Woman."
Adkins has also partnered with Waggin' Train to find dog owners most original and creative jingles for the brand's dog snacks. Now through August 3rd, the Waggin' Train Tail Waggin Jingle Contest will focus on lyrics and how fans enjoy time with their four-legged friends.
The grand prize winner will receive a chance to meet Adkins during the CMA Awards in Nashville, and perform the original jingle in a recording session produced by the Country music star.
