Republic Nashville group Eli Young Band has gone live with their "Crazy Girl" Youtube cover song contest. With over 2 million views of the "Crazy Girl" video online and over 400,000 downloads of the single sold, the band decided to hold a contest for fans.
Prior to announcing the contest 122 cover song videos had already been posted by fans on Youtube, with a cumulative of 156,000 views of those covers. The single made its debut at number one on the iTunes Country Singles Chart and has sold an average of 25,000 downloads a week, every week for over three months. "Crazy Girl" is the fastest rising single of the band's career.
Fans are being asked to record their own video version of "Crazy Girl" for the new contest and upload it to YouTube. The top ten finalists will be selected by July 21st for fan voting and the grand prize winner will be announced on July 25th.
The contest winner receives a Paul Reed Smith Starla Guitar valued at $3,000, two concert tickets, airfare, hotel accommodations to see Eli Young Band perform live and to perform "Crazy Girl" with the band on stage at The Life at Best album release show in Ft. Worth, TX on August 20th.
