Country great Lee Greenwood has released a new EP disc, "I Want To Be In Your World," his first release in five years. The set of seven songs was co-produced by Greenwood along with Butch Baker and Tony Smith.
"Choosing songs to record is always exciting. I love lyrics that have depth and emotion," said Greenwood. "I am thankful for the many writers and artists who have contributed to my career."
Greenwood recorded three self-penned songs for this project. On the new collection, he also recorded the ballad, "I Can Let Go Now," which was written by Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins.
In other Lee Greenwood news, Lee will be returning to The Welk Theatre in Branson, MO. On September 12th through October 22nd.Sharing the stage with Lee will be Louise Mandrell. Greenwood is still best known for his song, "God Bless The USA," which has seen a resurgence since it's release in 1991. The song, which was written by Greenwood, has charted in the top five on Country charts three different times, in 1991, 2001 and 2003. This makes it the only song in any genre to achieve that accomplishment.
