Atlantic Records/Warner Music Nashville will release the soundtrack for the upcoming film, "Footloose." The 12-track album will be available September 27th, and will include eight new songs, along with remakes of four classic hits from the original soundtrack.
Many Country music artists have been tapped to lend their voice, including Blake Shelton who sings the film's title song. Hunter Hayes will team up with Victoria Justice during the movie's love theme song called, "Almost Paradise." Big & Rich, Whitney Duncan, Lissie and Zac Brown of the Zac Brown Band, are featured as well. One person missing from the soundtrack is Mercury/Nashville artist Julianne Hough, who plays one of the lead roles in the film.
"Footloose" is centered on a man named Ren, who experiences culture shock after moving from Boston to the small town of Bomont. Years prior, teens were lost in a tragic accident, which caused the town to prohibit loud music and dancing. Ren revitalizes the town and falls in love with the minister's troubled daughter Arial, who is playing by Hough.
