Two of Country music's finest are joining the cause, "I'm Gonna Be Your Friend," which was founded by Bob Marley's widow Rita. Arista/Nashville artist Carrie Underwood and Mercury/Nashville artist Shania Twain are raising money for over 12 million starving people in East Africa.
Underwood and Twain join the ranks of over 150 stars that support the initiative, including Paul McCartney, Justin Bieber, Coldplay, Madonna, Lady Gaga, and the Rolling Stones. Each artist has posted on their Facebook and Twitter, the video link to Bob Marley's song "High Tide or Low Tide," which describes what the initiative is centered around.
The campaign hopes to reach over one billion people, to help serve the starving. According to the United Nations Food Agency, a high-level meeting to help rebuild the agriculture in East Africa has been set. Fans are encouraged to make donations, or buy "High Tide or Low Tide," on the official website, to help raise money.
