Country music themed movies seem to be quite the trend these days, with the film "16 South" coming to theaters the summer of 2012. Warner Music Nashville artist Randy Travis will play a leading role as George Baker. The film is described on the movie's official website as a "modern day epic western."
Curb/Nashville artist Rodney Atkins will also make a special appearance in the film. "16 South" will begin production in October in San Antonio, Texas. The soundtrack for the film will feature several artists including Travis and Atkins, along with Michael McDonald, Scott Reeves, Aaron Benward, Thomas Dvorak, and many others.
The writer and executive producer of "16 South," Hope Kelley said, "This soundtrack is going to make some new Country stars, too. We expect this soundtrack to bring a lot of the singles on the album to the top of the charts."
