Sep 26, 2011
Country music legend Lynn Anderson will be honored during the first annual WHINNY Awards on October 6th. The event will be held at the Radisson Opryland Hotel in Nashville at 6p (CT), and has been established to shine light on people who use their status to save, protect, and promote the equine industry.
Anderson has had a love of horses since her childhood, and they instantly became her hobby. She has won 16 national championships, four World championships, and also won the first ever American Quarter Horse Association trophy. Anderson has worked with the "Special Riders" at Animaland in Franklin, TN, which is a horseback-riding therapy program for children.
Anderson said, "As someone who has loved horses and the equine industry since I was a young girl, I feel so grateful and excited to be a part of the first annual WHINNY Awards."
She will also be performing a few of her greatest hits at the event. Other performers include Nashville singers/songwriters Templeton Thompson, Cassidy Lynn, Mark Wayne Glasmire, and DeeAnn Dominy. Several charities will also be represented during an auction.
