Arista Nashville artist Brad Paisley is helping to promote the First Amendment with an advertisement in Parade Magazine. The First Amendment campaign is connected with Vanderbilt University in Nashville, to publicize the five freedoms within the act - speech, the press, religion, assembly and petition.
In the ad Paisley is wearing his guitar, and performing with a shirt that reads, "American Saturday Night" from his recent tour. With his eyes closed, and arm raised, the top of the ad states, "Free to play, to sing, to speak, to write."
Vanderbilt's First Amendment Center has been promoting the 1 for All petition which provides teaching materials to the schools, and supports educational events on campuses throughout the country. Other Country artists that will also be helping to promote the campaign include Gloriana, Mary Chapin Carpenter, John Mellencamp, and actor Martin Sheen.
