The Time Jumpers
Jul 2, 2012
The Time Jumpers, a band formed in 1998 by Nashville's recording studio elite, has added a couple members to their group. With these additions came a recording contract with Rounder Records, made official on Tuesday, June 26th.
The newly added members to The Time Jumpers are Vince Gill, Larry Franklin, and Billy Thomas. Their debut album with Rounder Records is set to release on September 11, 2012.
"We're very proud of this album; it's the first time we've been able to record our own songs in a studio setting. We all look forward to our new relationship with Rounder Records," said The Time Jumpers founding member and vocalist/fiddler Kenny Sears.
The Time Jumpers were nominated for two Grammy awards in 2007 for their live album titled 'Jumpin' Time'. The band, whose members have changed over the years, now consists of 11 musicians.
"It's hard to imagine a more skilled band playing [Western swing/Country]. Pick a country or bluegrass artist - past or present - and it's a good bet someone in the group has worked with them. They're so adroit they don't even rehearse," said the Associated Press.
They have been labeled as the "show that stars go see" and continue to play weekly at 3rd and Lindsley, a venue in downtown Nashville.
