The Bellamy Brothers
Aug 20, 2012
The Bellamy Brothers have announced the release of their second Gospel album, "Pray For Me."
Despite a lot of controversy over the title track on their first Gospel project, "Jesus Is Coming (And Boy Is He Pissed)," the brothers Howard and David Bellamy decided to record a second Gospel album anyway. "We decided to record our second Gospel album because Gospel and Christian music is one of our favorite genres," said David. "We also received such a great reaction from our 'Jesus Is Coming' album we did a few years ago, it seemed like a natural progression from that album to the new one."
In addition to great reaction, the duo also received great recognition from critics as well as the Dove Awards where they were nominated twice with the controversial song.
The Bellamy Brothers are no stranger to awards. Throughout their forty year career, they have had a GRAMMY nomination for the Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group, been named the Top Country Duo by Billboard Magazine, have set the record for the most duo nominations from the Academy of Country Music (ACM) and the Country Music Association (CMA), have had numerous number one hits in the U.S. and abroad, and have released more than 50 albums.
"Creating this new album was a labor of love for us, and an element we hope we can always add to our variety of projects," said Howard Bellamy.
"Pray For Me" will be in stores and available online on Tuesday, September 4th, and includes the following tracks:
- Jesus Ain't No Stained Glass Window
- Pray For Me
- Holy Roller
- Spirit In The Sky
- Suppertime
- God Ain't Finished With Me Yet
