Black River Entertainment artist Kellie Pickler is now well-known for her support of breast cancer, and has been on a non-stop campaign to promote awareness. It started a few months ago when she shaved her head to show support for her best friend, Summer Holt Miller, who had been diagnosed with cancer. Pickler said right then, she made a pact with her friend that she would be by her side as Summer fought the disease.
Since then, Pickler has made several appearances on television, donated money, and performed at benefits all in support of breast cancer awareness. This week, during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Kellie she took her plight a step further by partnering with Trü Protection, and creating a limited edition custom iPhone case that will benefit the American Cancer Society.
"I am in awe of Kellie's bold and courageous act of solidarity and support for her friend Summer, who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. I lost my father to cancer, and we currently have a member of our staff, Lindsey Adams, battling lymphoma. Unfortunately, I think everyone's lives have been affected by cancer. We are thrilled to partner with Kellie and do our part to create awareness and help put an end to this terrible disease." said Trü Protection's CEO, Keiko Napier.
"When Trü Protection approached me with the opportunity to design a special cell phone case that would benefit a cause I whole-heartedly support how could I not. Plus, I love that Trü's product is American made using recycled materials," said Pickler.
$20 of each case that is sold (priced at $29.95) will go directly to the American Cancer Society's "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Campaign." The design was created by Nashville-based artist, Jason Parish. The cases for iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 will be available through the end of the year.
