B.J. Thomas
Jan 20, 2013

Pop, Country and Gospel singer-songwriter B.J. Thomas has announced plans to release a unique new album on March 29th, called "The Living Room Sessions."
The album will pair some of Thomas' biggest hits, with some of Nashville's most talented artists (from multiple genres). In an acoustic setting, artist such as Vince Gill, Lyle Lovett, Keb' Mo', Isaac Slade of The Fray, Richard Marx, Steve Tyrell, and more, will join Thomas on the re-worked versions of 12 of his biggest hits.
The new project, recorded on the Wrinkled Records label was recorded at Sound Stage in Nashville, with veteran Country producer Kyle Lehning.
According to a statement on the Wrinkled Records website, "One of the keys to making "The Living Room Sessions" as cozy and warmhearted as its title promises was not over-thinking the process in advance. Realizing that most of these classic tracks lent themselves perfectly to the "unplugged" setting, B.J. trusted Lehning and the Nashville "cats" (Bryan Sutton on acoustic guitar, mandolin, banjo, gut string guitar and dobro, John Willis on electric, acoustic and gut string guitar and dobro, Viktor Krauss on upright bass and Steve Brewster on drums and percussion) to just trust their instincts and do their thing. While Thomas brings a fresh emotional urgency to each song, he mostly kept the arrangements simple and in line with the original, only varying the melody slightly on a select few."
The track listing for "The Living Room Sessions" is as follows:
- Don't Worry Baby
- I Just Can't Help Believing (with Vince Gill)
- Most Of All (with Keb' Mo')
- Eyes of a New York Woman
- (Hey Won't You Play)Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song (with Richard Marx)
- I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry (with Isaac Slade)
- Rock and Roll Lullaby (with Steve Tyrell)
- New Looks From an Old Lover (with Etta Britt)
- Old Fashioned Love
- Hooked On A Feeling (with Sara Niemietz)
- Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head (with Lyle Lovett)
- Everybody's Out of Town
Throughout B.J. Thomas' 47 year career, he has collected five Grammys, two Dove awards, an Oscar and has sold over 70 million records. Thomas continues to perform 60 - 80 shows per year, all across the globe.
