Jo Dee Messina
Feb 24, 2013

Curb Records/ Nashville artist Jo Dee Messina has taken some time off from touring during the past year or two, to concentrate on raising a family. On January 11th, 2012, she had her second child, followed by writing a featured family-oriented blog for Nashville's The Tennessean newspaper. Last spring she appeared on "The Real Housewives Of Atlanta" and then began training for the Rock N' Roll San Antonio Marathon in the fall.
Jo Dee is now ready to get back to recording, kicking off the year in full writing more. In January, Messina went into what she called "a three day writer's lockdown" at her home with some of Nashville's best songwriters. The result was several new songs for an upcoming album.
Messina was so excited about one of the songs called "Unbreakable," that she took it upon herself to immediately produce a music video for it. Through social media, Jo Dee asked her fans to Tweet photos of themselves holding handwritten signs to be used throughout the video.
Describing the premise of the song, Messina said, "We walked into the writing session feeling tired of constant sides being taken and division in the world around us. If all that energy was spent on getting along we, as a society, would be 'Unbreakable.'"
With the help of her Twitter fans, the singer was able to produce a video and distribute the song through iTunes , Amazon and Spotify within a few days - a feat which traditionally takes months to complete.
After the overwhelming participation and support from her fans, Messina then took to Twitter for a second time, to put out a call for album artwork. Fan, Sandel Cash, created the winning design for "Unbreakable."
