Danny Gokey
Mar 3, 2013

American Idol Season 8 alum (and top 3 finalist), Danny Gokey has released a book about the life experiences that grabbed the attention of America during his AI run in 2009.
Danny Gokey's wife Sophia passed away, only weeks before his American Idol audition. She was the one who inspired and encouraged him to try out, so even after dealing with her loss, Danny auditioned in her honor.
The book, titled "Hope In Front Of Me," challenges readers to find purpose in their darkest moments and leave a legacy for others by investing in things that really matter. Filled with personal stories and illustrations, Gokey uses his life experiences to motivate and encourage readers.
After Sophia's death, Gokey balanced a professional career with philanthropic efforts such as the creation of non-profit charity, Sophia's Heart (named in honor of his late wife). The organization provides hope and resources to homeless families, scholarships to deserving students, and operates an inner-city music and arts program.
"Hope in Front of Me" will be published by NavPress and be available in print and digital formats this October.
