You've heard the moving vocal performance delivered by LEE BRICE on his most recent #1 single, "I Drive Your Truck," but the story behind the song is just as powerful. While listening to NPR on Memorial Day weekend in 2011, songwriter CONNIE HARRINGTON heard PAUL MONTI describe how he kept the memory of his son, JARED alive. "I drive his truck," said Monti.
Killed while serving in Afghanistan in 2006, JARED MONTI was later awarded The Medal of Honor posthumously, for trying to save a wounded soldier. HARRINGTON jotted down the elder MONTI's words, and then teamed with JESSIE ALEXANDER and JIMMY YEARY to pen what ultimately became BRICE's third #1 song from his "Hard To Love" album.
BRICE shifts gears for his latest single, "Parking Lot Party," released May 13. BRICE will support BRAD PAISLEY's "Beat This Summer Tour" beginning May 31 at Toronto's Molson Canadian Amphitheater. See his upcoming tour dates on his official website at www.leebrice.com.
