Branch & Dean
Dec 8, 2013

Country music artists Steve Branch and Marlon Dean Scallan - known as "Branch & Dean" - have been named the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's newest CF ambassadors. In this role, they will spread awareness about CF and help advance the mission of the Foundation.
The pair have a personal connection to the cause. Branch lost his only son, Theron Steven William Branch, earlier this year to cystic fibrosis. Theron was 23.
"When my son passed, it changed our whole lives. Suddenly, our music wasn't just Country music. It became music with a purpose," Branch said. "We want to do everything we can to help the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation find a cure for this devastating disease."
The duo's new single, "The Dash," written in honor of Theron, refers to the "dash" between the birth and death dates of a lifetime and asks listeners, "From the first breath to the last, how will you spend your dash?" The Dash has reached No. 1 in the European charts and No. 15 on the Music Row Country Breakout Chart and most recently entered both the Billboard and Country Air Check charts which reflect airplay in major market radio stations in the United States.
"We are thrilled to welcome Branch & Dean to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation family and look forward to working with them as they share their message of hope with the CF community," said C. Richard Mattingly, executive vice president and chief operating officer of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
