May 12, 2014

15-year old Country singer Lizzie Sider will be honored as a "HateBraker Hero" at the "2nd Annual HateBraker Heroes Awards" on Monday, May 19th at the Hilton Frontenac in St. Louis, MO. During the ceremony, Sider will perform her original song, "Butterfly," which she co-wrote about her own experience of being bullied.
Lizzie is being honored for being a role model and for her work in helping others overcome bullying. She has toured schools in California, Florida, and Texas to perform and talk about her personal experiences. By the end of the 2014 school year, Lizzie will have met with nearly 100,000 students, sharing the message "No one has the power to ruin your day."
HateBrakers Founder/Director Susan Balk said, "Lizzie mustered the courage to rise above bullying and tell her story to the world. Whenever a room full of children hear her sing "Butterfly," about how she stopped hiding and learned to fly, they understand that they can do it too. She's a powerhouse of healing, and she's not even old enough to drive!"
Sider is currently working on her first full-length studio album for release in 2014. For more info, visit LizzieSider.com.
