Shania Twain
Oct 12, 2014

Shania Twain recently launched a $400,000 program called Shania Kids Can Clubhouse to aid in taking care of children in her hometown of Ontario, Canada. The program was opened by her charity, Shania Kids Can Charity Foundation, in conjunction with Dilawri Foundation and the Peel District School Board. The aim is to help at-risk children acquire free tutoring, recreational programs, life skills programs, and healthy snacks.
The money will be spread out yearly over a four year window and will go to the Sir Winston Churchill Public School in Brampton, Ontario. Twain wanted to let the children know that she has been where they are, and she did so in person in September. The school was recently struck by two tragedies - a ten year old student was killed in a house fire in June, and a fourth grader was tragically shot in his home in 2013 - so the assistance comes at a much-needed time for the students.
