Gretchen Peters

After her recent induction into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, Gretchen Peters confirmed she would release a new album. "Blackbirds" will hit stores on Tuesday, February 10th and feature eleven tracks.
Co-produced by Doug Lancio and Bary Walsh, the album was recorded in Nashville and features Jerry Douglas, Jason Isbell, Jimmy LaFave, Will Kimbrough, Kim Richey, Suzy Bogguss, and many other modern American acts. "During the Summer of 2013 when I began writing songs for 'Blackbirds,' there was one week when I went to three memorial services and a wedding," remarked Peters. "It dawned on me that this is the way it goes as you get older - the memorial services start coming with alarming frequency and the weddings are infrequent and thus somehow more moving."
Peters teamed with frequent tour-mate Ben Glover to co-write several tracks on "Blackbirds," evoking a 70s folk rock feel from artists like Neil Young, David Crosby, and Joni Mitchell who inspired Peters in her youth. For more information and a complete track listing, visit www.gretchenpeters.com.
