Country singer Jimmy Wayne was moved to action when he observed people walking past a Christmas tree in a Nashville-area mall that had been set up for the Salvation Army's Angel Tree Program. As a recipient of gifts from the program, Wayne wanted to draw awareness to the project and its positive effects on underprivileged youth. For Wayne, the inspiration came in the form of a song entitled "Paper Angels," which debuted in 2004 and went on to become a book.
The story of "Paper Angels" has now been made in to a television movie of the same name for the UP-TV network. The film also features a brief cameo by the formerly homeless man turned singer/songwriter/author. For more information and show times, visit www.UPTV.com/paperangels or www.JimmyWayne.com.
