Garth Brooks
Jan 11, 2015

RCA Nashville megastar Garth Brooks has had a busy week! On Thursday, January 8th, Garth participated in all four hours of NBC-TV's "TODAY Show," including co-hosting the last full hour with Hoda Kotb in the absence of Kathie Lee Gifford. During the show, Garth performed his current single, "Mom," as well as a sing-along version of his signature hit, "Friends In Low Places."
Garth, ever the gentleman, politely lost to Kotb during a Country music trivia challenge, and assisted in giving makeovers to two mothers in the studio audience. Garth spoke of his love for Trisha Yearwood and weighed in on a survey regarding the effects of dating your best friend. He also spoke candidly about his time away from the music business, insisting that being a Dad is still the greatest "gig" he could ever have. Brooks also took questions from fans via social media, something that is still new to the technology convert. Full recaps are available at www.today.com/toyotaconcertseries.
Additionally, as Garth prepares for a seven-show run in his hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma, street signs in the city have been changed out to honor some of the superstar's greatest hits. "Shameless Boulevard," "Low Places Lane," "Rodeo Drive," and "Thunder Rolls Road" are now the names of the streets surrounding the BOK Center in Tulsa where Garth will be in residence for two weeks. The man, the myth, the legend - Garth Brooks - continues to break records (even his own!) and leave his mark as he blazes a new trail during his second chance at a Country music career.
