Sunny Sweeney
Jan 18, 2015

Sunny Sweeney is becoming a regular social media hero, this time helping reunite an Army veteran of the Iraq war with his ring. The sterling silver right was made in honor of Kery Hatcher's service to our country but was lost. Sweeney found the ring at a hotel in Natchez, MS and posted photos on her Facebook page.
"My aunt found this Iraq war ARMY veteran's ring in the Hampton Inn in Natchez, Mississippi," Sweeney wrote via her Facebook post on Wednesday, January 7th. "It is sterling silver, and has the owner's full three-letter initials engraved on the inside. The first name starts with a K. The last name starts with an H. I would like to find the owner of this ring and get it back to him. Please if you know who this might belong to, send me a message with the owner's MIDDLE initial. Please share this all around with your friends and family, and let's try to get it back to him."
Just one day later, after the post was shared over 30,000 times, Sweeney was able to report that the owner, Kery Hatcher, had been located. "I found the owner of the ring in one day," Sweeney posted on Thursday, January 8th again via her Facebook page. "And no less than on the 10th anniversary of his ship date to Iraq! God works in mysterious ways."
Congratulations to Sunny Sweeney for her part in the reunion, and for reminding everyone of the good that can come from the connectivity of social media.
