Maddie & Tae

Dot Records duo Maddie & Tae may have signed their record deal less than one year ago, but that hasn't stopped them from skyrocketing to notoriety. After propelling "Girl In A Country Song" to #1 on the Mediabase singles chart, and with their second single "Fly" poised to go for adds at Country radio, Jimmy Fallon and his team at "The Tonight Show" reached out to Maddie & Tae and asked them to debut "Fly" on the show on Friday, January 23rd.
"Every time we think it can't get any better, something else incredible happens," said Maddie Marlow. "The response to 'Girl' - from the press to the fans to Country radio giving us our first #1. Now getting to go on Jimmy Fallon and sing our brand new single?!"
While much was made of the cute girls with the cute song being a potential novelty act in a Country format that has been overpowered with testosterone as of late, Maddie & Tae are ready to prove their staying power with "Fly." The song hits all the right notes as the two talented young ladies put their songwriting, instrumentation, and powerful vocal harmonies front and center for their follow-up release.
"'Fly' is so important to us because it really is the story of our journey, of doing something might be crazy," explained Taylor Dye. "Being scared and being emancipated to come to Nashville at 17... saying 'No, we want to write our own songs...,' not knowing if that's gonna break the deal. But you have to believe in yourself. It's crazy and wonderful. Maybe all dreams don't come true quite like this, but 'Fallon' and 'Fly' and everything else proves, be bold! Go ahead and dream and believe and keep going. We did, and here we are. And Friday [January 23rd], we're going to be in New York City, meeting Jimmy Fallon and the Roots!"
