Blake Shelton

In his first turn hosting NBC-TV's "Saturday Night Live" (SNL), Warner Music Nashville star Blake Shelton drew a crowd. Doubling as musical guest for the weekend comedy sketch show, Shelton brought in the season's second-highest ratings to date in metered-market households. While Shelton is known for his quick-witted and self-deprecating sense of humor, it was high light-hearted ability to parody the Country music life and style that earned the biggest laughs. In addition to spoofing ABC-TV's "The Bachelor" and participating in a celebrity addition of "Family Feud" pitting judges from "The Voice" against judges from "American Idol," Shelton created a viral sensation with the SNL digital short featuring a music video for Country spoof "The Wishin' Boot." SNL cast members Aidy Bryant and Kate McKinnon dawned their best Country female power-vocalist wardrobes and crooned along with Shelton - dressed to vaguely resemble a hybrid between himself and Alan Jackson - to the song that soon went viral and inspired its own hashtag.
Shelton also provided musical entertainment for the evening in the form of his past number one singles "Boys Round Here" and "Neon Light." After his success on SNL, Shelton has also been tapped to appear in a new Western-themed comedy movie starring Adam Sandler entitled "Ridiculous 6." Additional stars who are said to have signed on for the project include Steve Zahn, Jon Lovitz, Dan Akroyd, Taylor Lautner, and Vanilla Ice - talk about a motley crew!
