The Oak Ridge Boys stopped to see an old friend after a recent concert. During a trip to Houston, Texas, the group took time out to visit President George H.W. Bush and First Lady Barbara Bush to sing for the President, who suffered health problems during the Christmas holidays. The Boys, "gathered around a President to sing a little 'Life's Railway.' We have been singing to George H.W. Bush for 33 years!" the group reported via their Facebook page.
Additionally, The Oak Ridge Boys have partnered with Bank Of America in support of Military Warriors Support Foundation. The Boys are giving away homes to deserving Veterans at tour stops across the country in honor of the service and sacrifice from the members of America's armed forces. Concurrently, The Oak Ridge Boys announced their participation in the upcoming Volunteer Jam. On Wednesday, August 12th, the Charlie Daniels 40th Anniversary Volunteer Jam will take place in Nashville with proceeds going to fund The Journey Home Project and The Predators Foundation.
