Lee Brice
Feb 1, 2015

It has been on hell of a January for Curb artist Lee Brice. After co-headlining sold-out shows in New York and Connecticut with RCA Nashville artist Chris Young, Brice was called up to the big-league stage by the one and only Garth Brooks. Calling it a "bucket list" item, Brice joined Garth on stage at TD Garden Arena in Boston in front of a sold out crowd to duet on the Brice-penned hit "More Than A Memory." Garth recorded the song for his 2007 "The Ultimate Hits" album and earned Brice his first #1 as a songwriter. "Getting to sing that song with Garth - my first number one as a songwriter - was a bucket list moment for sure," said Brice. Various videos and audio clips of the performance went viral, showing Brice's genuine shock and disbelief at the crowd and the experience. It is debatable as to which was a bigger thrill for him - the crowd of thousands singing every one of his well-written lyrics back to him, or receiving a thank you tweet from Brooks after the show. Perhaps Brice can weigh in on that for me some time.
Additionally, Brice is set to continue his co-headlining run with Young throughout February and in to March with shows selling out quickly. Brice will also headline his own show during his debut at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on Tuesday, February 24th. He has invited his friends, Columbia Nashville artist Tyler Farr and Dot Records duo Maddie & Tae, to join him at the show. "The first time I sang on the stage of the Ryman was during my very first trip to Nashville with a buddy over Spring Break 15 years ago," remarked Brice. "We took a daytime tour, and the sweet lady leading our tour let me stand in the circle on that stage and sing. I remember she said, 'You're pretty good. Maybe I'll see you on this stage again sometime.'" And in other tour news, Brice also announced he will be appearing on the Virginia Beach Patriotic Festival during Memorial Day weekend, where he will share the stage with legendary groups Alabama and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
To wrap up the week, Brice was nominated for an ACM Award for Single Record of the Year for his chart-topping ballad, "I Don't Dance," which he wrote and produced. All-in-all, January seems to have been a fairly stellar month for Brice. If this is any indication, 2015 may just be The Year Of Lee.
