Garth Brooks
Feb 15, 2015

RCA Nashville artist Garth Brooks celebrated his birthday in style last weekend. The Country star turned 53 on Saturday, February 7th while in Pittsburgh for his World Tour. No doubt this was a planned move on Brooks' part, having been a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
During wife Trisha Yearwood's birthday last year, the couple made certain their tour dates intersected with Yearwood's home state of Georgia as they played in Atlanta the night of her birthday. To celebrate, Brooks made certain "Ms. Yearwood" received a custom jersey from her favorite sports team - MLB's Atlanta Braves. To reciprocate, Yearwood went all-out for Brooks' birthday in Pittsburgh bringing in a few famous friends to pay tribute to the Country star.
Brooks was treated to a tour of some famous Steelers memorabilia, a Pittsburgh sport team-themed cake, and surprise visits from Steelers legends Lynn Swann, Terry Bradshaw, and others. To top the evening off, current Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin and the current roster for the Steelers joined Brooks on stage for a rousing rendition of "Friends In Low Places." Ben Roethlisberger took over the hand-held camera as other Steelers player shot confetti cannons into the audience. "Big Ben" even gave his own jersey to Brooks as a birthday gift.
To cap the evening, Brooks was greeted backstage by friends and crew and was given a pie in appreciation. Granted - the pie was to the face, but it was certainly done with love. Highlights of the birthday spectacular were used to create a special video, which Brooks then shared via social media saying, "BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!!"
