Josh Turner

Universal Music Group Nashville artist Josh Turner joined the Reebok "Be More Human" campaign recently, traveling to Boston for the opening round of this year's Reebok CrossFit Games. The globally integrated "Be More Human" campaign is designed to celebrate ordinary people who use sports and fitness in their quest for personal fulfillment and to serve the greater good.
Turner, like so many Americans, works to maintain the balance between professional, familial, and personal time. During a time when Turner had become disillusioned with the fitness world and endless supplements promising unrealistic results, he had a chance encounter with four-time CrossFit Games Champion Rich Froning and discovered a new approach to fitness. As a celebrated musician and busy husband and father of four, Turner is a long-time health-conscience athlete who has embraced the world of CrossFit athletics and fitness.
"I had heard about CrossFit from several fitness magazines and had just seen Rich on the cover of 'Muscle & Fitness,'" said Turner. "The very next day, I actually met him at the Nashville airport. He casually asked if I had ever tried CrossFit, and I told him no, so he invited me out to his CrossFit Mayhem [Cookeville, TN], and I took him up on it. The first workout he put me through had me coughing my lungs up for hours, but it didn't deter me. I never dreamed I would be competing in a CrossFit Open!"
