Country legend Johnny Cash continues to earn critical success over a decade after his passing. On Tuesday, March 24th, Cash's American Recordings series will be released in its entirety as a vinyl box set from Universal Music Enterprises. The set will include: "American Recordings," the original 1994 project, as well as "American Recordings II: Unchained" from 1996, "American Recordings III: Solitary Man" from 2000, and "American Recordings IV: The Man Comes Around" from 2002 in addition to the posthumously released "American Recordings V: A Hundred Highways" from 2006 and "American Recordings VI: Ain't No Grave" from 2010.
The American Recordings series earned Cash numerous GRAMMY and CMA Awards in response to his covers of Rock classics and new takes on older releases. His work with producer Rick Rubin and collaboration with Tom Petty in the studio helped cement Cash's American Recordings series as a critical success with mass appeal toward the end of Cash's career and life.
