RCA Nashville artist Miranda Lambert was recently contacted by actress and Tennessee native Reese Witherspoon about contributing a track for the upcoming comedy film "Hot Pursuit." Lambert told the story of the song, "Two of a Crime," during a recent interview at Ryan Seacrest ON AIR.
"Reese texted me and told me about the movie and wanted me to write something or sing or both," explained Lambert. "I got inspired. I love Reese and Sofia [Vergara, co-star in 'Hot Pursuit']. It was a bit of a 'Thelma and Louise' theme, and that's totally up my alley. It is really so fun to be part of it. It was the first time I wrote a song specifically for a movie, so it was a different experience for me."
Lambert took Witherspoon's notes about wanting a Southern and a Latin flavor for the song and teamed with frequent collaborators Natalie Hemby and Nicolle Galyon to pen the track. Lambert's "Two of a Crime" will be made available on iTunes Tuesday, April 28th ahead of the Friday, May 8th premier of "Hot Pursuit."
