Country legend George Jones passed away two years ago, and since then, much has been done to preserve his legacy. The George Jones Estate - helmed by wife Nancy Jones - has now partnered with 28 Entertainment to fast-track a film entitled "No Show Jones," which has already been in development for several years. Nancy will serve as Executive Producer on the project, which promises to be an honest look at the icon's life on and off stage. The film's original script writer, Dennis Baxter, and 28 Entertainment's Brian A. Hoffman will co-produce and have brought on writer/producer Alan Wenkus to flesh out the script before filming begins.
Nancy Jones has given Wenkus extensive interviews in regards to George's childhood, marriages, career, and colorful life stories. Nothing has been left off the table, as the film plans to delve in to Jones's battles with alcohol and substance abuse as well as his famous marriage and career partnership with the late Tammy Wynette. Casting announcement have yet to be made, nor has filming begun. For information and updates, visit www.GeorgeJones.com.
