While two boxers, one Pop princess, a boy band, and a shock jock took the top five slots on the Forbes list of highest paid celebrities, Country musicians fared rather well on this year's list. Eleven artists or bands from the genre made the Top 100 - assuming we can still count Taylor Swift as ours for at least part of the June 1, 2014 through June 1, 2015 time slot - with Garth Brooks falling just short of the top five at #6 overall with $90 million (before subtracting management fees and taxes, in accordance with Forbes' calculations). Not bad for a guy who just came out of retirement in July of 2014. Swift comes in at #8 with $80 million, though most of that time slot saw her in the Pop world.
Other Country stars in the Top 100 were Toby Keith (#32 with $53 million), Jason Aldean ( #47 with $43.5 million), Luke Bryan (#48 with $42.5 million), Kenny Chesney (#49 with $42 million), Tim McGraw (#58 with $38 million), Florida Georgia Line (#61 with $36.5 million), Zac Brown Band (#78 with $32 million), and Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton (who tied at #95 with $28.5 million each). All in all, not a bad year for some of Country's biggest names. For more information and a complete listing of the The World's Highest-Paid Celebrities, visit www.Forbes.com.
