In what is what is becoming a more common occurrence in the Country industry, The Grateful Dead's Bob Weir has announced that he is hard at work on a project consisting of music he labels as "cowboy songs." Collaborating with Folk artist Josh Ritter while recording in both New York and San Francisco, Weir told Relix magazine that the emphasis is being put on storytelling for the project. The iconic musician grew up working on a ranch and has kept a fondness for "cowboy songs" throughout his life. No title or release date has been set for the project, and Weir is slated to join the newly-formed Dead & Company on the road beginning at the end of October.
