Jeannie Seely
Oct 4, 2015

Congratulations to Jeannie Seely, "Miss Country Soul," who recently celebrated 48 years as a member of the Grand Ole Opry. She performed a special song to mark the occasion: "Don't Touch Me," her first number one song which won her a Grammy in 1967 for Best Female Country Vocal Performance. This same song launched her career in the Country music industry and led her to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 1967.
"After I started seriously pursuing my career, I made it my goal to, someday, somehow, become a member of the Opry!" said Seely. "To me, next to the Hall of Fame, your name on that membership wall signifies, more than anything else, your place in Country music history. Celebrating my 48th anniversary reminds me of how fast time flies when you are having a wonderful time! I feel my role now is to carry on the tradition as best I can..."
