Let Her Walk
...Peak Broadcasting is like that. They miss nothing and you couldn't pay me enough to be across the street from them. I always remind stations to keep their eyes open for "sad prom" and "sad grad" stories. They're out there and most of us miss them. Like this story about a girl who had a crappy excuse for missing classes and not being able to graduate on time. Chemo schemo. http://www.ktvb.com/news/Senior-not-allowed-to-walk-at-graduation-153412775.html
The Kiss morning show jumped on it in the morning and got this from someone at the state capital in the afternoon:
Your station absolutely, without a doubt, can take credit for BSD reversing their position on Haylee Winters' participation in the Timberline graduation ceremony.
We were all listening on the way to school and work this morning, and by 7:45 am, almost everyone I knew was all over this issue.
Intense chemotherapy for an inoperable brain tumor means this young lady has little to look forward to in what time she has left. You just gave her the best gift- she gets to join her friends in graduation and she now knows that there was a groundswell of support from her community.
The people have spoken; you informed them.
Radio-free Boise! You guys ROCK.
Caged Heat
I love www.meet-an-inmate.com Dave Ryan's show was the first that I talked into initiating dialogue with a prison and posting the letters. Rush at Mix 96.1 in San Antonio joins that elite club http://www.mix961.com/pages/therussellrushshow.html?article=10124545
