The Lost Art Of Launching A Station
A litmus test for a great launch is when people are reaching out asking what is going on. Which is not exactly something you get with most launches in 2017/18. Thanks to James Cridland for the find. http://www.clarionledger.com/story/magnolia/entertainment/2017/12/27/cherry-cherry-repeat-local-radio-station-107-1/985567001/?utm_source=james.crid.land&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=james.crid.land%3A2018-01-01
Science!
There was a station in BC a few years ago that promoted a new "tone" that had been embedded in their signal that mosquitos found to be annoying. "So just take us with you, play us out and don't get bit once this Summer".
Troy McCallum did that with Thermal Audio two years ago at Boom in Toronto. Same concept: the station warmed you while you listened.
More audio like this if you click through.
God Bless The Silly People
Jillian at iHeart in Albany went and webcammed her teddy bear slowly being buried in snow over the weekend. https://wildcountry999.iheart.com/featured/jillian/content/2017-03-08-live-feed-of-capital-region-winter-storm-stella/
Happy Flu Year!
A brief perusal of social media over the past week would indicate that a lot of people are down with it (and not in a 1970's "I'm down with what you're saying" kind of way).
You can reference it with some Googlizing or with some imaging.
You can never go wrong with a surgical mask.
And this is brilliant and immediately stealable.
