Somewhere In Calgary....
One of the things that Radio has discovered is that a great way for people to notice you, is to vandalize some of your outdoor. Even just inverting one board for a few days will activate people enough to reach out to you and tell you that someone effed up while putting up your outdoor. It also works great when doing something like Fugitive.
In Calgary, someone, possibly a college student since this was close to campus, excised Katie from the 90.3 AMP-FM bus shelter ad. Who he is and what he's doing with Katie remains a mystery. But it would sure be one way to maybe juice an outdoor campaign: turn it into a promotion to find and return the missing DJ.
Who's Down With KFC? Yeah You Know Me
From Terry Evans at K-97 in Edmonton:
KFC offered $11,000 to one woman who gave birth on Sept 9 if she named the baby Harland (Harland Sanders).
In Edmonton Danielle Maxwell was giving birth by C-Section on September 7th. We called her 3 hours before the birth and offered $1000 if she gave her son the middle names "Terry" and "Pete". Here he is. One week old it's Justice Victor Terry Peter Maxwell.
Not Just Dave, But Dave And Busters
You would almost think that Mike Klein has been through a hurricane before. Three days after Hurricane Florence, Hot in Greenville hosted a free party for evacuees at Dave & Busters. It all came together in a day.
It's nice to see a company that can actually adjust their site during a natural disaster. (Though, "Selena Gomez says that carrots are her hidden diet secret!" is the stuff that really moves the needle)
