Jun 8, 2014

Tim Bergling, better known as Avicii (stylized as AVICII), is a Swedish DJ, remixer, and record producer. Avicii is a dance-genre DJ who ranked No. 6 on the Top 100 DJs list by DJ Magazine in 2011, No. 3 in 2012, and was ranked No. 3 again in 2013. He has been nominated twice for a Grammy Award for his work on "Sunshine" with David Guetta in 2012 and in 2011 for his song "Levels". He was awarded "Best Electronic" Artist at the 2013 EMA's held on November 10th.
Avicii's influences include Tiësto, Daft Punk, Laidback Luke, Eric Prydz, and former Swedish House Mafia trio Sebastian Ingrosso, Steve Angello, and Axwell. Said Avicii in April 2011, "I've always been into music, and growing up with older siblings I've also had loads of different influences when it comes to my music taste. There are loads of other people that have influenced me but I think the biggest inspirations I've had aside from my manager has been the Swedish House Mafia guys and Eric Prydz, they were the ones who first got me into house!"
True (sometimes stylized as TRUE) is Avicii's debut studio album. It was released on September 13th through PRMD Music / Universal Island and its affiliated Universal Music record labels. True features collaborations with American guitarist and producer Nile Rodgers, country musician Mac Davis, Mike Einziger of American rock band Incubus, American soul singer Aloe Blacc, Dan Reynolds of American rock band Imagine Dragons (his vocals were featured in a version released on SoundCloud, though the album release of "Heart Upon my Sleeve" did not), singer and songwriter Dan Tyminski of bluegrass band Alison Krauss and Union Station, singer and songwriter Sterling Fox, and American singer and songwriter Adam Lambert. Avicii said that sonically, the album would move away from his electronic dance and house music sound on previous records, by incorporating elements of other genres such as country music. True is preceded by the release of the Blacc-assisted "Wake Me Up" that topped several charts around the world and "You Make Me" which features vocals from Swedish artist Salem Al Fakir.
The album has been commercially successful, peaking within the top ten of at least ten countries, including debuting at number two in the United Kingdom.
"Addicted to You" is the latest single from the Swedish producer. Written by Avicii, Ash Pournouri, Mac Davis and Josh Krajcik, the track appears on Avicii's debut studio album, True (2013). American folk rock singer-songwriter Audra Mae provides uncredited vocals for the track. The fourth single from True, "Addicted to You" was first released to Australian radio on November 27th; a digital single of "Addicted to You" remixes was released on March 11th.
