"Hymn For The Weekend (SeeB Remix)" is the latest single out now by the British group, Coldplay. Released via Parlophone/Atlantic, it features uncredited backing vocals from Beyoncé. The track serves as the second single from Coldplay's seventh studio album, "A Head Full Of Dreams."
When asked about the origination of the song, Coldplay front-man, Chris Martin explained, "I thought I'd like to have a song called 'Drinks on Me' where you sit on the side of a club and buy everyone drinks because you're so f---ing cool," he recalled. "I was chuckling about that, when this melody came -- 'drinks on me, drinks on me' -- then the rest of the song came out. I presented it to the rest of the band and they said, 'We love this song, but there's no way you can sing "drinks on me."' So that changed into 'drink from me' and the idea of having an angelic person in your life. Then that turned into asking Beyonce to sing on it."
Coldplay was formed in 1996 by lead vocalist and pianist Chris Martin and lead guitarist Jonny Buckland at University College London (UCL). Guy Berryman and Will Champion eventually joined as a drummer and backing vocalist, completing the performing line-up. Before last year's, "A Head Full of Dreams", Coldplay had released 7 full-length records; "Parachutes" (2000), "A Rush Of Blood To The Head" (2002), "X & Y" (2005), "Viva La Viva or Death and All His Friends" (2008), "Mylo Xyloto" (2011) and "Ghost Stories" (2014).
