Ticket Brokers Association/Garth debate

Did you guys hear that the National Association of Ticket Brokers pulled their annual conference at the Wynn in Las Vegas because of Wynn cracking down on Garth ticket scalpers?

CMT has the story...that is hilarious! Doesn't "ticket broker" mean SCALPER? HA!

Re: Christmas Music

I refuse to listen to Christmas music before Halloween. I refuse to play it before Halloween.

Re: Ed Salamon

I was sad to hear of Ed's departure. He will be greatly missed. I wonder if they are going to try to hire from within? That'd be cool if Becky Brenner could take the job, but I know she has a lot of responsibilities already, especially being based in Seattle.

Re: Tony & Kris

I wouldn't be surprised if they became the next "Big D & Bubba" syndicated-type show, for Cumulus stations. Good for them for getting back in the game! I've always liked those guys.

Re: Point of Grace & Country

I think Jim's right about the Opry appearances, I think it's just a connection thing - you probably have to know someone who knows someone to get a performance slot for the evening. I can't recall too many indie artists hitting the Opry stage, so I think you have to have an established name or be si...

Re: CMT Awards

I'm sure it will stay at the Sommet. That was a much smarter choice on their part. The sound is never good at any awards show, although I was a bit disappointed in the way the sound was run this year, not just the quality itself. I remember Hillary Scott's (Lady A) mic not being turned on until a fe...

Re: Keith Urban

I think it's going to be either Kenny Chesney or Taylor Swift, as far as who will win Entertainer of the Year. Kenny will probably get it, because it's his last year touring for the summer until 2011. He had the top grossing tour of the summer, across all genres, according to USA Today. He beat out ...

Re: Point of Grace & Country

I know they tried releasing a couple of songs to Country radio, but I don't think they ever got any traction with them. I just can't picture them as Country artists. They have been such a staple in Christian music for so long. I feel like people think all you have to do these days is just add fiddle...

Garth is back!

Of course no one is surprised to hear it, but I sure am excited about it. Although I don't think I'll ever be able to afford to go to Vegas to see him. The costs add up reeeeeal fast. Plane ticket, hotel, food, concert tickets, etc. I love Garth and all, but I won't be spending that much money to se...

You ain't kiddin', Adam....I was completely shocked by the news. Mudflap rocked...it's going to be interesting to see how the new show works.
