Re: Where is the New, Young Talent?

Give me an example of a broadcaster "getting it" and returning back to radio's roots. And what non-broadcaster has left the medium? And where is the mp3, jpeg, blog or video going? Social Networking isn't going anywhere so what do you mean by that? I agree that Radio could cope with change, but it's...

Re: Where is the New, Young Talent?

Where is the new, young talent??? I have a question for you. Are you sure your even looking? If you have any sense then you would know that a young talent is far away from radio. Radio is a cranky old man when it comes to talent. The industry is only interested in the fearful. The ones who won't bre...

Re: I served this country for a GM's right to refuse me a job!

I can tell you they're not paying the kids out of college. I can promise you that. FYI, it's a business. Yes, public service gets thrown in on occasion, but not enough to call it that.

Re: I served this country for a GM's right to refuse me a job!

I would find it hard to hire you based on your attitude. I would consider myself lucky to pass up an interview in your current state of thought. This industry is very hard and not for people who get their feelings hurt easily. At 40 you should know that cynicism gets you nowhere. Try to change your ...

Re: Will Radio Get Worse Before it Gets Better?

Let's be honest with ourselves, people get their music from the internet now. That's how you get your updates about music, artists, and concerts via youtube, myspace, etc. If you are a jock and you get song requests then that's great, but you are only holding a listener for an average of five minute...

Re: What's happening and what should we do about it?

I don't think I said anything about being fired or not working in the industry; however winning the lottery does sound good. I'll think about doing that. I can't leave the industry now I'm too far in. I'm just complaining about the current situation for all talent. I do agree that one day the pendul...

What's happening and what should we do about it?

It has come to my attention that everyone who is posting jobs either to voice track or work for free in this industry has completely lost respect for the talents craft. Why is this happening? It's all over the country, and what can we do about it?

Someone, anyone, please.

Re: Donnie Osmond

Well the future doesn't look very bright. As a voice tracker, a very good one BTW, I know that voice tracking looses listeners. You may think people didn't know, but your playing into a common mistake that everyone else makes. And that's you think your audience is stupid. Rest assured they know.
